Era 8
There is no formal history or quote that exists for Era 8, mainly because by its end, Arcadia for the most part didn't exist anymore on DNT. Many of the players had gotten bored of the modpack, and through the constant building of cities, Skandia was actually designed as a village to get an old naturalistic feel. Its unknown if the village for Skandia would've worked, but members, including leadership, was mainly unmotivated to try.
There was little Arcadia had left to achieve considering their level of control they had over the server. Ultimately, this marked the end of Arcadia's primary period on Minecraft on DNT Servers. Around January when the server shut down, there was little explanation on why, even to staff. The primary reason that is believed however, is that when you stop and consider Arcadia's amount of power over DNT, its easy to understand why.
Arcadia had control over the economy, when it left, the economy in-game crashed. Similarly, 70% of the donaters were in Arcadia which crippled the server's income. When it came to political matters, all of staff was in Arcadia, which left the server staff-less. Socially, Arcadia was the largest group by far which left a power vacuum in-game, and culturally it had always maintained itself as the heart of DNT Civilization, and when it left, so did the image of DNT. Arcadia contained so much power that without it, the servers essentially shut down. Regardless of the ending to Arcadia's time on DNT however, it cannot be ignored that Arcadia's success on DNT is without question, and the fact that the alliance in-game extended to the point it had several communication methods off-game such as skype, or this very website, just shows to explain the reach Arcadia had.
